About Us

Meet Aaron & Jenny

We’re Aaron and Jenny, the husband-and-wife team behind Orru Designs, a 3D printing business based in Rosscarbery, West Cork.

From Beara and Asturias to Rosscarbery

Aaron is originally from Castletownbere on the Beara Peninsula and has spent more than 25 years working in computer sales and repairs. Jenny was born and raised in Asturias, in the north of Spain, before moving to Castletownbere in 2016. It was there that we met and started our family.

How our creative journey began

Our creative journey began with embroidery, before taking a new direction when Jenny bought Aaron his first 3D printer as a Christmas gift. That present sparked a shared interest, and during COVID we spent time learning together, experimenting with prints and developing our skills in computer-aided design (CAD).

Christmas gifts became our first range of 3D-printed products. As our skills and ideas grew, we gradually expanded our range and made 3D printing the focus of our business.

We moved to Rosscarbery during COVID, and it was here that we built Orru Designs together. Over the past few years, we’ve continued learning, developing products and exploring what we can create.

Growing together

For the last two years, we’ve been bringing our products to local farmers’ markets. This year, we’ve taken another step by launching our website and online shop, giving customers a new way to discover and order our creations.

September marked another milestone for us, with Aaron moving into Orru Designs full-time. He is now fully focused on developing the business, creating new products and growing what we’ve built together.

Orru Designs is a business we’re building as a family, shaped by everything we’ve learned along the way.
